Sarah from Girls Aloud can’t dance

Here’s something fun for you to try. If you ever see Girls Aloud on the telly, keep your eyes on Sarah all the time (the one with the short, blonde hair), don’t take your eyes off her because she can’t dance to save herself and not only can she not dance, she can’t do any small movements that require some sort of timing or rythmn without looking like a clumsy oaf. Seriously! So remember, next time you see Girls Aloud on TV, eyes on Sarah.

Bevvies

I love drinking red wine, particularly with my dinner. Dinner just isn’t as good without a lovely red to accompany it – in a perfectly clean, large wine class, of course. But, when I’m at the pub, by the end of the night I get a bit sick of drinking wine so I’ve been looking for a new drink. I only like beer or cider when it’s warm outside or during the day and I don’t really like spirits at the end of the night either so I just couldn’t think of a drink I liked. Well now I’ve found one, Amaretto & orange. I know it sounds a bit ‘Rita, Sue & Bob Too’ but it tastes lovely and the alcohol content’s not too high so it’s good for the end of the night after you’ve already polished off 5 bottles of wine. Amaretto sours are good, but Amaretto & orange is very nice too (and quicker to make).

Amaretto Sour
2 1/2 to 3 oz. Amaretto liqueur
1 whole lemon juiced
4 to 5 drops of bitters
1 Maraschino cherry

PS I don’t really drink 5 bottles of wine in one night. Honest!

Rehab

What is it with this annoying trend to ‘go to rehab’? What did we do before rehab? When a celebrity appears to have a drink or drug problem it’s ’she needs to go to rehab’, ‘get Amy Winehouse into rehab’, ‘Britney needs rehab’. What happened to plain old-fashioned ‘going to the doctors’ or even just ’sorting yourself out’. 

Amy Winehouse’s dad said recently ‘we need to get her to rehab’ as if, if they can just manage to get her into rehab, she’s cured, like it’s some miracle cure. What he should have said is ‘we need to get Amy to stop taking heroin, crack cocaine, ecstacy, ketamin and alcohol and keep her away from her low-life husband who cheats on her and introduced her to Class A drugs’.

Friday night piss up

I’m out on the town tonight for a girls night out. I’ve been working my poor fingers to the bone recently so I can’t wait to get the old ladies out for a good old bevvy and chinwag. I just read what I wrote there and it sounds like I’m going to get my tits out for a bevvy and a chinwag. Now wouldn’t that be an interesting night. Who knows, anything could happen.
